CROWNS & BRIDGES

For a long time, the production of crowns and bridges made it necessary for the patient to endure several unloved impressions. In many cases, this can be avoided with CAD/CAM technology:

After the affected teeth have been prepared, an intraoral 3D scan (optical impression) is taken with a 3D camera, processed on the computer using special software and the crown or bridge is designed virtually.

In a grinding machine connected to the computer, two diamond grinders grind out the virtual construction produced on the computer from a ceramic block.

After a short try-in in the mouth, depending on the material used, the crown/bridge can be finished in a furnace and then immediately cemented in the mouth. This eliminates the need for further sessions and the usually annoying wearing of temporary devices, which usually come loose at the most inopportune moment.

This technique is suitable for almost all types of crowns and bridges, whether on natural teeth, on implants or on a combination of natural teeth and implants.

Since gold is no longer required as a framework material for the production of crowns/bridges, the aesthetics are more natural and tooth-like than with conventional production methods. In addition, the costs for the patient are correspondingly lower.
