Dental hygiene & school dental care

Nature has designed our dentition and our teeth in such a complex way that it is difficult even for us dental professionals to keep our teeth 100% clean.

Since everyone has a personal, more or less large, hygiene deficit, a systematic concept is needed to regularly compensate this deficit: dental hygiene or prophylaxis.

Regular dental hygiene/prophylactic treatments can largely prevent the two main diseases of our mouth, caries (“hole in the tooth”) and periodontitis (“periodontal disease”, “tooth loosening”).

The interval between dental hygiene/prophylactic treatments can vary from 6 weeks to a year, depending on individual needs (cook at high risk of caries, elderly or disabled person with limited mobility...). It is important that it is carried out regularly, since the harmful biofilm (“plaque”, “tartar”) is constantly being re-formed.

For the timely detection and avoidance of milk tooth caries and misaligned teeth, we also offer the annual school dental care check-up to your children.

In order to prevent that you miss an appointment, we are running a recall system in our practice, with which you will receive a reminder letter in the month before the necessary appointment and can thus choose an appointment which fits to your agenda.

Dental check is important!
